Spicy rocket guacamole

Simple guacamole recipe with a little hint of arugula. Natural, simple and spicy just enough.

Guacamole is an avocado based dip originally from Mexico. It is usually served with nachos, with tacos and burritos alongside to other ingredients. Guacamole also make a great combination with toasted bread, sweet potato chips and many other foods.

The original recipe has just few simple ingredients but there are also many different variations.

For this recipes I have used basic ingredients then added some fresh arugula for an extra pungent flavour that blends perfectly with the creaminess of the avocado, the spiciness of the chilli and the sourness of the lime.

This recipe it's delicious, cheap and it takes just 5 minutes to make it.

Let's get started!!!

  • 1 avocado

  • 1 fresh tomato

  • The juice of 1 lime

  • 4 teaspoon of sesame seeds

  • Fresh chilli

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 1 handful of wild rocket

  • A pinch of salt

  1. Cut in half the avocado and use the knife for remove the kernel. Scoop out the pulp with a spoon.

  2. Finely chop the tomato, garlic and the rocket.

  3. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl using a fork until you get a creamy consistency.

The secret for a perfect guacamole is to find the perfect avocado which has to be ripe but not to much. When you buy an avocado, take the one that is soft under your fingers but not squashy.

Take it easy with the amount of chilli to use otherwise it will cover the taste of the other ingredients.

If chilli isn't your thing you can use pepper instead.

Avocados are highly nutritious fruits, rich in antioxidants and healthy fats. They are great for your body helping to prevent diseases, overcoming illnesses and to promote optimal health. Avocados are also highly beneficial for the skin, the hair and nails.

Guacamole is one simple and delicious way to enjoy avocados.

I recommend to consume guacamole fresh but if there is any leftover or you want to prepare it in advance, it can be stored in the fridge, in airtight containers, for up to 2 days.

If you enjoyed this version of the guacamole please let me know in the comment and do not forget to share it on your social media.

Thank you and enjoy!
